Residential building permits
Permits are required for any of the following residential projects:
- New residential buildings or additions
- New single family homes
- New duplexes
- New garages/pole buildings
- New decks, pools, spas or fences
- Residential additions - any square footage added to an existing residential home, duplex or accessory structure
- Residential remodels - any interior alterations to a home, duplex or accessory structure
Fee payment
- Identify fees that need to be paid when application is submitted; view current permit fees. Payments can be made by credit card or check. There is a 2.5% credit card/online convenience fee. Fees must be paid prior to application being processed.
- Mail or walk the application and fees into the Spokane Valley City Hall, 10210 E. Sprague Ave, Spokane Valley, WA 99206.
- Email materials to permitcenter@spokanevalley.org and call 509-720-5240 regarding fee payment.

- Construction Plans (If proposed construction is a Pole Building, engineered drawings are required per {RCW 18.08.410} and one set must have an original signature and stamp.)
- Copy of the Sewer Permit – Sewer permits are issued through the Spokane County Utility Department.
